Simple to make, yet delightfully inviting to eat.

4 firm, ripe tomatoes
½ C fresh basil, chopped
3 cloves garlic, pressed and minced
2 T olive oil
1 loaf French or Italian Bread

Heat the broiler.
In a small bowl combine the tomatoes, basil and 2 of the garlic cloves and mix together.
In a separate small bowl, combine the rest of the garlic with the oil.
Cut bread into ½ inch slices. Place on cookie sheet.
Put on oven mitts and place the bread under the broiler.
Toast for 1-2 minutes.
Remove cookie sheet from oven and turn the bread over with tongs.
Toast the other side for 1-2 minutes.
Remove each bread slice and brush lightly with olive oil and garlic.
Top with the tomato mixture.
Serve immediately.
