Lisa has been cooking and experimenting with creating a variety of healthy, vegetarian and vegan meals for more than a decade. She is an avid organic gardener and loves to develop new recipes for the food she grows.
Lisa is also a former Elementary School Classroom Teacher and Curriculum Trainer. She holds a Master's Degree in Education. Currently, she homeschools her teenage son (who is also a vegetarian) and they cook many meals together. They have also taught several cooking classes together, as they share the same passion for healthy, nutritious meals. Lisa and her son are quite talented at modifying meat-based recipes to make them vegan/vegetarian and enjoy the unique and delicious meals that are a result of this process.
Lisa volunteers weekly at a local CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farm where she obtains a quality supply of fresh, organic produce. As a result of this wonderful opportunity, she does not purchase any fruits or vegetables from the grocery store and has become adept at modifying recipes to work with what is grown in each season.
Lisa has taught private cooking classes
in the home as well as in a classroom/group setting and she works with both children and adults.
Currently, she is in the process of writing a cookbook which provides a wide variety of fun and easy to make, vegetable and fruit based snacks and meals, focusing on the health benefits of this type of diet.
Lisa recently became a member of the Sonoma County Culinary Guild and is also involved in studying both the history and future of our food system and how it effects people around the world. She is passionate about educating others on how simple dietary changes can improve your life, as well as the world at large.
